The Entertainment Industry: Why mental health needs to take priority post-COVID

Join @theatreartlife in a discussion with Ace Piva and Janine Diaz about the importance of prioritising mental health within the entertainment industry as we rebuild post-COVID.

Working from gig-to-gig or show-to-show often means wellbeing and mental health is sidelined while the event, show or gig is prioritised. Often people needing support easily slip the the cracks due to the itinerant nature of the industry. Join the discussion to learn strategies to support your individual mental health and wellbeing.

With a wealth of experience within the industry and a passion for wellbeing and mental health, this is an important discussion as we collectively look to life beyond COVID.

Registration and attendance is FREE.

If you cannot attend the live event, please register and you will receive a replay link within 24 hours.

The #WeMakeEvents team would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Let's raise a toast (of our official #WeMakeEvents gin, of course) to the health of the live events and entertainment industries and the hope that 2021 will be the year where we can get back to doing what we do best!

Since its formation the #WeMakeEvents Campaign has eagerly sought to work with any other groups sharing our aims and ethos, for the collective good for all the sectors of our industry.

In October we aligned with the @oneindustryonevoice movement to continue that collaborative spirit, sharing our ideas and proposals with fellow campaigns similarly representing their supporters and stakeholders.

Checkout the link to the full update on our profile, for details some the work we have been involved with and the achievements of the group so far!

We were made aware of a Christmas ‘drive-through’ event in Norfolk this weekend that used the We Make Events name.
Due to some confusion, we announced that #WeMakeEvents is in no way associated with the event or it’s organisers.

We are pleased to see that this article, published yesterday, clarifies that >> this now allows us to return our full attention to our key objectives of serving our industry!

#WeMakeEvents / is an international movement created to highlight the plight of the live events industry during the Covid crisis and encourage the Government to help the sector get back to work, whilst raising charitable funds for those suffering as a result of not being able to work in the meantime.

On Tuesday 22 December from 6:30pm we’re excited to sit down with @unusual_rigging 's Technical Director, Robin Elias!

Join us as Robin takes us on a journey through his Rock n' Roll days right up to present day at Unusual. Robin will also be joined by Nicky Greet from @plasaonline to talk about the NRC (National Rigging Certificate), how it started, and why it is a benchmark within our industry.

We have been been made aware of a Christmas ‘drive-through’ event in Norfolk that has used the 'We Make Events' name.
#WeMakeEvents is in no way associated with the event or it’s organisers and isn’t able to comment or provide any guidance to visitors.

We are exploring legal options to prevent the organisers from using our name.

Join us on Monday for 'Noise Management for Events', from 10am – 11am as part of our online Speakeasy 📢

Make the call. You are not alone. You are not wasting anyone’s time.”

For those in crisis or need of immediate support call:

*Samaritans on 116 123
*Your crisis team, if you already receive healthcare support
*NHS 111
*Your local GP
